Arts Community
This site serves as a forum for discussions relating to the role of technology (e.g., calendaring, ticketing, education, social networking, etc.) in fostering stronger, more collaborative communities of arts organizations locally, regionally, and nationwide.
If you represent an arts council, regional arts organization, national service organization or other not-for-profit entity that aggregates or coordinates the activities of arts organizations, you are very welcome to participate. Vendors who serve these communities are also welcome, though we ask that contributions focus on the discussions here; commercial advertisements or other community 'spam' may be taken down at the discretion of the organizers.
The site was created as a follow-up to an invited convening of community arts portal projects at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation on 29 July 2008. One of its purposes is to open the conversation begun there to other, similar groups and projects around the country, so we hope you will join in! Most of the site's activity occurs in the Wiki (see link below), where you will find project descriptions and some advice about how to get involved in the conversation.
